Privacy policy

What is collected

• The board's organizer: name, email address, and the details of the deceased that were entered: name, father's or mother's name, dates of death and burial.
• A participant: name, and email address or phone number, whichever the participant chose to give. Also what they took and when they marked it as done.
• Technical: the IP address is kept for one hour only, to prevent abuse (rate limiting). There are no tracking cookies and no advertising.
• Statistics: to know how many people use the site and how they reach it, the server reports each page opened to Google Analytics: the page's address without its personal part (a board link or a personal link is sent without its identifier), the language, the country and the site you came from. It also reports when a board is opened, a part is taken or a part is completed, with no details about them. No name, email, phone number or IP address is sent, and nothing is placed in your browser for this, neither a cookie nor a script. To count visitors, the server derives from the IP address and the browser type a number that changes every day and from which the address cannot be recovered.

Why

Only to run the board: to show who took what, to send the personal link, and to send reminders to those who agreed to receive them. The details are not sold and are not passed on to anyone.

Who sees it

• On the public board, which anyone with the link can see, only the first name and the initial of the family name of whoever took a part appear ("Sarah K.").
• The organizer sees the full name and the email address or phone number of the participants on their board, so that they can contact them.

How long

• Participants' contact details are deleted 90 days after the board is completed, or 90 days after the target date if it is not completed. The first name stays in the list of learners on the siyum page.
• Sent emails are kept for up to 30 days, to look into problems, and are then deleted.
• The boards' data is backed up every night, and each backup is deleted after 30 days. So information deleted from the site may remain in a backup for up to 30 more days.
• The organizer can delete the whole board at any time, from the dashboard.

Service providers

The site runs on Cloudflare (servers and database), and emails are sent through Cloudflare, or through Resend if there is a problem. Both process the information only to provide the service. The statistics are kept in Google's Google Analytics, with no identifying details.

Cookies

One cookie per board, to remember who took a part (so they do not have to type it again). A sign-in cookie for the organizer, with the list of boards opened in that browser, to show them on the sign-in page. And a cookie that remembers the language you chose. There are no other cookies.
